A Lazy Girl’s Capsule Wardrobe

Oct 17, 2017

I love watching YouTube videos about capsule wardrobes. It’s bordering on obsession, but I love seeing the 30 key pieces that girls decide will be their go-to items for 3 months. I’ve been toying with the idea myself for awhile, but I’m not sure I have the energy to plan out an entire wardrobe. The amount of planning that goes into this is a bit insane, so I’d rather do the no shopping bit and wear the same pieces over and over while the rest goes into storage.

So, I’m going to do this outfit by outfit, because that’s what makes the most sense to me – starting with my work-from-home uniform.

When I’m working from home, I want to focus as much as possible on being productive (ha..ha… that’s what I tell myself), so spending time choosing an outfit to wear around my house (or to Starbucks) is bananas. This is why I wear basically the same clothes on these days.

Starting with these Levi’s overalls. The idea of wearing overalls started me on this whole “uniform” journey, and finding a pair that was fitted but also allowed me to sit down was quite a feat. Fair warning, these run small, and occasionally I need to unbutton them a little, but I’ve been stretching them out.

I found these boots at Target super cheap, and I’ve been wearing them everyday. I have a pair of TOM’s combat boots that I wore on the reg, but then the toe busted open… I need to try to get them repaired. In the meanwhile, these are my faves.

I also can’t go anywhere in the fall without a big scarf – pink is my favorite color at the moment, sorry not sorry – and a long necklace. But that’s only if I venture into the outside world.

I just got this striped, sweatery type mock neck top from Anthro, and I’m all about it. The weight is perfect for fall, and I have a problem with stripes.

But on warmer days, a basic black tee will do the job and Everlane is the best tee I’ve tried by FAR. They fit like a dream, somewhere between a boyfriend fit and a slim fit (go up a size), and you can’t go wrong for $15. So do it, you won’t regret it.

Ok, I’m tired of talking to myself. Time to get some work done.
